A considered lighting strategy creates a sense of belonging at Evolent Health’s Chicago HQ.
For a healthcare company committed to patient wellness, the workplace experience should feel comforting and supportive. So, when Evolent Health expanded its Chicago HQ, the goal was to create an environment that reflected that commitment. Working with the architects at Partners by Design, Lumenwerx contributed to the vision with a lighting strategy designed to create comfortable, welcoming spaces for employees.
A key component of the strategy is the use of Via Perimeter luminaires throughout open office areas and circulation zones. Installed at the wall-ceiling intersection, Via Perimeter creates a continuous ribbon of light that offers warmth and dimension to the architecture, along with comfortable ambient illumination. In hallways, the fixtures help guide movement, casting light downward along walls to highlight branded graphics and outward to play off the unique ribbed ceiling.
Perhaps the strongest visual representation of wellness and comfort is found in a casual meeting space, where a Rim Shapes luminaire hangs above an almost living-room-like setting. Suspended above the space, a glowing oval casts a warm layer of light downward, with the fixture’s luminous profile helping establish a sense of comfort and connection.
Rather than simply lighting an office, these thoughtfully arranged luminaires help shape the employee experience, reinforce the company’s mission, and create spaces where people feel welcome and connected. Through the careful integration of light and architecture, the office becomes a living embodiment of Evolent’s focus on health and wellbeing.
