Versatile Via 2 luminaires create a cohesive lighting strategy for a redesigned workplace.

When engineering consultancy BBA decided to redesign their office, their goal was to create a workspace that would support focus, collaboration and the day-to-day needs of the people who would work there. Collaborating with the project’s designers, Lemay, Lumenwerx helped translate that thinking into a satisfyingly straightforward lighting scheme built around Via 2 luminaires.

As simple as the finished lighting scheme may appear, the illumination supports elements of BBA’s broader strategy by integrating overhead lighting with natural light, identified by the company as a key aspect of fostering employee well-being. Within the office, long runs of suspended Via 2 luminaires provide gentle overhead illumination that complements daylight from the office’s expansive windows, rather than overpowering it.

With their streamlined linear profile, Via 2 fixtures also extend above rows of individual workstations, creating a sense of visual harmony that helps organize the open office. Thanks to their flexible direct and indirect distributions, light is delivered precisely where it is needed, reducing glare and neatly following the arrangement of desks and circulation paths.

Via’s indirect illumination also casts light onto the ceiling plane, helping create a balanced quality to the space. The overall result is a restrained lighting strategy that feels naturally integrated into the surrounding architecture: functional, flexible and carefully aligned with BBA’s requirements for the space.
