At the San Francisco offices of investment bank PJT Partners, lighting provides an inviting, upscale atmosphere that complements the space’s abundant daylight and world-class views. Located on the 27th floor of the iconic Steuart Tower at One Market Plaza, PJT’s office offers sweeping vistas of San Francisco Bay, some of the most enviable views in the city. To capitalize on this natural beauty, our lighting plan, developed in conjunction with Lighting Systems, was designed to enhance what Mother Nature had to offer, rather than overpower it.
Central to our approach was the installation of Via 2 luminaires, set into the ceiling in linear forms to offer a soft glow along the ceiling and ambient light throughout open office spaces. Via’s minimalist profile blends seamlessly into the surrounding architecture, helping organize space without disrupting the uninterrupted sightlines to the bay.
Complementing the linear nature of Via, Voilà provide precise, comfortable illumination that adds a refined architectural layer to the office’s modern aesthetic. Here too, the fixtures merge seamlessly into the architecture, delivering effective illumination without cluttering the space or the views. Featuring advanced HyFlex™ optics, Voilà 4 Downlight gave the design team the ability to control beams in key areas to create focused pools of light that enhance the overall experience of the space.
Together, Via and Voilà create a cohesive lighting strategy that balances precision with restraint to support the functionality of this incredible office and the showstopping natural setting outside its windows.
