Lighting brings energy and personality to every corner of a newly rebuilt campus.

When a massive tornado destroyed Georgia’s Newnan High School, the community lost more than buildings. The new 223,000-square-foot campus, designed by Southern A&E, offered a fresh start for students and staff. Lumenwerx was brought in to support the vision with a lighting plan that feels warm, welcoming, and full of life.

The overall strategic goal was to install lighting that would not only help students navigate the active campus but also inspire and energize. Curvia 2 surface and Curvia 4 surface luminaires play a big role in turning the vision into reality. Installed throughout hallways and open lounge areas, Curvia’s flowing curved forms introduce movement and personality overhead while producing comfortable, low-glare illumination suitable for reading, working on a laptop, or simply hanging out.

In the school cafeteria, the curved motif finds a new shape. Here, Rim Shapes rounded square pendants, large squares with softly rounded corners, are layered overhead. These provide ambient illumination while helping define the space below, transforming the cafeteria into a destination in its own right rather than simply a place to eat lunch.

Since high schools are high-traffic zones, in stairways and hallways Via 2 surface luminaires deliver the visibility needed to get students where they need to go. In addition to providing clean LED-driven illumination, their linear forms integrate naturally into the newly built architecture, reducing visual clutter. Together, this lighting strategy reinforces Newnan as a place of renewal, learning, and community for years to come. Go Cougars!
