Senior Industrial Designer/ Mechanical engineer

Lumenwerx is seeking a senior Industrial Designer/Mechanical engineer who will work as part of the design team, collaborate with engineers, mechanical designers, to create Lighting fixture concepts and designs.

You would be required to have a strong developed design sensitivity and the skills needed to make an ideas a reality all this in a fast paced environment.

Required Knowledge and skillsets
•Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or Mechanical engineer from a recognized University
•7+ years in a similar role and product development
•Must have a proven LED lighting experience, including LED product roadmap creation and lighting design and LED thermal characteristics.
•Strong attention to detail in composing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
•Proficient knowledge of Solid Works.

Key activities
•Designs and implements from a pre-determined project brief and budget a variety of concepts of various types and configurations.
•Research of similar products for reference purposes
•Construction of three-dimensional CAD models
•Recommendation of finishes for the final product
•Construction or provision of drawings to allow the fabrication of mock-ups, prototypes of the design projects for appreciation, testing and confirming physical massing and scale.
